There is a serious lack of jobs. It is incredibly frustrating. The jobs that are out there expect to be able to pay you $30k and you should be able to live fine off that... Yeah...go tell the mortgage companies and electric companies and daycare that.

I wish I could go back and do something for less money. I wish I could have another baby now. I wish I didn't have to work to survive. It is all very frustrating. Next month when my severance runs out is when I will really start to feel it. When the bill collectors will start.

Sorry for a depressing post but I just wanted to write it somewhere.

I saw my old job posted today in the Florida office part time. That job is no part time job, I proved that. I worked immensely hard so this new person can come in and maintain all my hard work. No thanks for everything. Joke of a package.

Screw you Traub Lieberman.

No One Respects a Coward

So this blog is from a "full-time working mom", but as of yesterday I am no longer working. I was laid off yesterday after working for this company for almost 3 years. The betrayal I feel towards my former boss is immense. I have worked my butt off for these people, jumped through so many hoops, brought in so much money, but apparently I worked myself out of a job. I know that this has nothing to do with babies or baby food or anything, but it does, it has to do with my ability to support my baby, to support my family. I no longer have that ability. For 2 reviews now I have accepted either no raise or a very minimal raise, to be told that my boss has my back and will do what he can to get me a real raise, one that I deserve, only to have my job "eliminated". Where was my boss when there was discussions about eliminating my job? Why didn't he have my back then?

He wouldn't even look me in the eye when the idiot director of firm administration was telling me, hell she wouldn't even look at me. If you are going to eliminate my position and put my family at risk, have the balls to look me in the eyes!!!! Look me in the eyes and said you worked yourself out of a job. I have been told day after day, week after week, meeting after meeting how "essential" my job is. Well, guess what happens to essential positions? They get eliminated! Guess what happens to people who bring in 7 year old invoices that just got stuck on the books? they get eliminated! Told to leave immediately like a thief, pack up your things and go.

My prior boss was an incredible woman, someone who I respect immensely. Someone who believed in me, who respected me, didn't treat me like a subordinate, showed gratitude, was strong and powerful, she treated me like a daughter. When I gave her notice, I gave her a month's notice because it was important to me that she find someone just as good.  I respected this boss, that respect went out the window when he became a coward. I know that when my "eliminated" position becomes part time in Florida, that they will NEVER find someone as good as me, but I will find people a million times better than them.
