Hot Chocolate Ice Cream

I got this really crazy idea in my head, and tell me if I am wrong. Do people in warm climates drink hot chocolate on Christmas?

I then thought, what about cold hot chocolate, my mind continued and made its way over to Hot Chocolate Ice Cream!

It was incredibly easy and the only "special equipment" you really need is an ice cream maker. I just used any hot chocolate mix. Store bought is fine. I used hot chocolate that was gifted to me by a co-worker.

Pour into a sauce pan and mix with 1 cup of cream. Whisk away.
Also add 2 cups of whole milk and 2 egg yolks. KEEP WHISKING!!!!
Whew... ok you can stop
See how thick
Alton Brown said that if you do this and it doesn't go back together you are good to go
Make sure our ice cream maker is frozen

Add a handful of chocolate chips. I love chocolate chips.
Now is when you need to listen to your ice cream maker and not me. My maker told me to churn for 15-20 minutes. See how it is thickening.
Yummy Ice Cream. I'll eat that thank you! It is about the consistency of soft serve ice cream. Put it in a sealed container in the freeze to firm up a bit.

ENJOY!!!
